Gender Violence Research and Collaboration Network
The Gender Violence Research and Collaboration Network (GVRCN) is a feminist-led, grassroots initiative uniting early and mid-career researchers dedicated to addressing gender-based violence (GBV). The GVRCN envisions a world where emerging scholars and practitioners are empowered, supported, and meaningfully connected within a vibrant global community.
In addition to our aim of supporting the next generation of GBV professionals, we are an educational charity dedicated to advancing public knowledge about gender-based violence. We make academic research accessible to everyone by providing free, balanced, evidence-based educational resources, workshops, and webinars. Our educational programmes serve educators, practitioners, policymakers, students, community organisations, and anyone interested in understanding GBV research.
Our Story
This community was born out of a shared need for support, connection, and empathy in a field that can often feel overwhelmingly challenging. Working in gender-based violence is draining, and finding the resources to care for our mental well-being can feel out of reach.
Today, we are more than just a network; we are a lifeline. Through online events, mentorship opportunities, and well-being programs, we’ve created a space where individuals can lean on one another, share their struggles, and find the strength to keep moving forward.
As we look to the future, we are inspired by the resilience of our members and the power of community. Together, we are making a difference, supporting each other, and proving that change is possible, even in the toughest times.
